Travel Information Now Available at Select SK Gas Stations
Tourist Information Guide Booths have been installed at SK Gas Stations located
nearby tourist attractions in Seoul, Gyeongju, Jeonju

In preparations for the upcoming vacation season, the Visit Korea Committee (Chairman, Shin, Dong-bin) revealed that
starting July 1st, they will install tourist information guide booths at SK gas stations around the main tourism districts.
To invigorate domestic tourism, the Committee entered talks with SK Energy and the Korea Tourism Organization last February. The idea came about as a result of many civil complaints about requesting the tourist map or asking for directions at gas stations. In an effort to better serve visitors, both domestic and overseas, it was decided that tourist information guide booths would be installed in the SK gas stations. Fifty-five SK gas stations around popular areas of Seoul, Gyeongju, and Jeonju have been equipped with the booths, with the local government managing the installed booths, and ensuring proper stock of maps and information booklets.
With the shift from group tours to individual travelers, a need has developed for easy access tourism information placed in key areas. Robert Y. Ro, secretary general of the Visit Korea Committee, said, “The renewed tourist information guide booths, which are unattended information centers, include information about the area`s accommodation and eateries. He also said, "I think this is an advanced tourism system that will save operating expenses and is a win-win situation for visitors and private enterprises."
